Some Sad News...

Philip Matheson Janes died on September 22, 2018.  With Philip’s passing, the Philip Janes Gallery is closed.

Philip’s life was largely dedicated to the Philip Janes Gallery and its predecessor, Arts Exclusive Gallery.  He enjoyed the arts of all kinds, and was a valuable supporter of the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra will dedicate their first performance of the season to Philip.  Details may be found in his obituary below.

Dear Artists, Friends and Family
On October 27th, the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra is holding its first concert of the season and they are dedicating it to Philip.

Prior to the concert, Philip's family is hosting a small reception and you are invited.  The details are:

Parking is in Lot D; the Reception is in Building 15 and the concert is in Building 17. There will be signage to direct you accordingly.
The concert following the reception is going to be fantastic.  The Orchestra is featuring the music of Gershwin and Tchaikovsky.  The concert begins at 4:30 in the Millard Auditorium, just a short walk from the reception, and tickets can be purchased at the door.

Donations to FVSO, in Philip’s memory, will be applied to the creation of
“The Philip Janes Memorial Conductor’s Chair”,
an endowment fund established for the sustaining support of FVSO.
